Haystacks, or Hay Stacks, is a hill in the Lake District, situated at the south-eastern end of the Buttermere Valley. Although not of any great elevation, Haystacks has become one of the most popular fells in the area. The ascent to Haystacks was one of Alfred Wainwright’s favourites of all his climbs to any of the 214 Lake District Fells featured in his famous Pictorial Guides to the Lake District.
